AntiqueWeekend isn't just one
sale, event or show, A broad collection of independent show promoters and local entrepreneurs provide space for more than 2,000 antique, collectible and craft vendors and dealers throughout the several small communities located roughly halfway between Houston and Austin, Texas. [map] This is a very well established event that has continued to grow in popularity for forty years. Originally started in Round Top, several other shows began popping up in other nearby communities. The largest show community today is Warrenton where several halls and dozens of fields are filled twice a year. In just the last few years there has been tremendous growth. One relative newcomer, Marburger Farms, covers a 40+ acre site just south of Round Top and has attracted the largest number of dealers. Altogether there's more than 300 acres used for the great Texas AntiqueWeekend events! |

It's kind of an antique pilgrimage. [pictures] The largest hubs of activity center in, and around, the rural communities of Warrenton, Round Top, Shelby, Fayetteville, Carmine, Oldenburg, and Rutersville. The nearby "big cities" are La Grange, Brenham, Columbus, and Smithville. [map] There are literally dozen of simultaneous shows throughout the week and a half. It's just not possible for us to tell you opening and closing times for AntiqueWeekend. Each show, hall and field has its own days and hours. See the show listings for individual show times. [shows] And what a show! You can find virtually anything here. From fine art and museum quality antiques to flea market fare, it's all here. Pieces of buildings, marbles, signs, machinery, crafts, light fixtures, hats, knives, toys, crystal, glass, telephones, imports, folk art and lots of kitchen sinks! And don't forget the food, lots of visiting vendors and excellent local establishments serving every style of food imaginable. [eating] Seems like everywhere you go there's another yard sale, another new show and more dealers. It's truly one of those times when it can be said, "you can't tell the players without a program." It all starts with Preview Weekend Nine years ago AntiqueWeekend.com™ started calling the first weekend, the weekend before all the shows were open, Preview Weekend to differentiate it from the traditional AntiqueWeekend dates. The name stuck and today the first weekend is widely known as Preview Weekend. [show calendar] Many of the vendors and dealers come great distances and haul lots of items, some very large (particularly at Warrenton). They tend to arrive the week and weekend before the full weekend. Accordingly, about half the dealers (especially those set-up outside) will be open for business during this Preview Weekend. This is a very popular weekend for antique shop owners to see things early and get special pre-show sale prices for items they'll resell in their stores. Yes, sales are made during Preview Weekend. You don't have to be a dealer or own a shop, just show up at Preview Weekend and get the same bargains. If on the other hand, you are interested in 'fine' antiques, silver, china, glass, etc. that show primarily at the indoor shows, Texas AntiqueWeekend is when you would want to come. [show calendar] Of course, to see everything you would need to here both weekends and the week in-between! If you plan on spending the night finding a place to stay can be a challenge, so start early. [places to stay] See you at the show! |
